    Exactly, that’s a key point about EC2 security. Security groups act as virtual firewalls at the instance level, controlling inbound and outbound traffic before it even reaches your instance. They work alongside whatever firewalls or rules you configure inside the OS, like iptables, but are managed from the AWS side, which makes them really convenient for controlling access without logging into the instance itself.
