To get started, you'll need to configure two data bags: databags/agent/hosts.json (which lists the hosts for the agents) and databags/controller/config.json (which holds the configuration for the controller).

The cookbook also includes default attributes for the MySQL configuration of both the controller and agent, and various recipes for installing and configuring the required components on the nodes (such as cmon::agent, cmon::controller, and cmon::web).

Make sure to adjust these data bags and attributes to suit your specific environment and requirements.

Nice overview of the Chef cookbook structure and setup requirements. The separation between controller, agent, and web roles is well thought out, and the use of data bags makes host management much cleaner—especially when scaling or reusing configurations. It’s also helpful that the recipes handle CMON user creation and grants automatically, which reduces manual post-install steps. Even though it’s marked as work in progress, this kind of structured automation can save a lot of time, much like having a clear, step-by-step process in other complex workflows such as <a href="https://auto-ankauf-24.de/" rel="nofollow">Auto mit motorschaden Verkaufen</a>, where removing ambiguity makes everything smoother.
