Add first node definied in the "Add existing Cluster" wizard to existing nodes, no matter if its configured in wsrep_cluster_address
Hi folks,
I just tried the CLusterControl software and had a issue when using the wizard to add a existing cluster.
In our case the single instance does not contain itself in the wsrep_cluster_address variable but only all the other nodes existing in the cluster since its enough to know all other for staring up and keep in sync.
If I know use the wizard to add the cluster, it detects all configured nodes well and adds them to the cluster group in ClusterControl, but the initial node the controller connects to to fetch all the information about the other nodes is not added to the group of cluster nodes.
The config for host with IP 172.16.208.21 is like:
wsrep_cluster_address = gcomm://172.16.208.22:14401,172.16.208.23:14401
which works pretty well in the cluster, but if the wizard uses 172.16.208.21 to create the cluster, only nodes 172.16.208.22 and 172.16.208.23 are listed then, but not the initial one.
I think I did this long ago, since in a older version of the percona cluster there were lot of warnings that the node blacklisted its own IP as a neighbour node or so ... I can't really remember what the real message was.
So since the node is in the cluster it should also be added to the nodes, ClusterControl shows for the just added cluster :-).
Best
Steffen
